Why Tovrik

What makes our approach considered

Reading-led, not lecture-led

Participants read a chapter before each session. The group then discusses it. No slides, no one-way presentations.

Small, focused cohorts

Groups of eight to twelve participants keep discussion substantive and allow for genuine exchange between people in comparable life situations.

Clearly educational, not advisory

No financial products are presented. No advice is given. The programmes concern vocabulary, frameworks, and document literacy.

Singapore-specific content

Reading material references CPF structures, local bank documentation, and Singapore-specific regulatory terminology rather than generic international content.

Printed materials throughout

Each programme includes physical reading binders, workbooks, or folder systems. Materials are designed to be kept and referred to after the sessions end.

Designed for adults 40 and above

The vocabulary, scenarios, and discussion examples are drawn from the life situations of people in mid- to late working life, not from a general adult curriculum.

Questions

Commonly asked before enrolment

What does "reading-led" mean in practice?
A chapter or set of readings is sent to participants in advance of each session. When the group meets, the discussion begins from those readings rather than from a presentation or lecture. The facilitator guides the conversation and helps clarify vocabulary, but the text is the starting point.
Are these programmes regulated financial services?
No. The programmes are educational reading workshops. No financial products are offered or discussed, and no advice is given at any stage. Participants are encouraged to consult a licensed adviser for personal financial decisions.
How do I know which programme suits my situation?
The enquiry form is a useful starting point. We are glad to describe each programme's reading material and discuss which circle might be a comfortable fit for what you are hoping to understand. There is no obligation.
How many people attend each programme?
The Late-Career Reading Series runs with up to twelve participants. The Household Coordination Workshop and Document Organisation Circle both run with eight to twelve participants. Cohort sizes are kept small to allow for genuine discussion.
What are the programme fees and what do they cover?
The Late-Career Reading Series is S$880. The Household Coordination Reading Workshop is S$220. The Document Organisation Reading Circle is S$170. Fees cover all session attendance, printed materials (reading binder, workbook, or folder system as applicable), and any follow-up circle access described in the programme.
Where do the sessions take place?
Sessions are held at our reading room at 158 Cecil Street, #12-01, Dapenso Building, Singapore 069545. The location is accessible by MRT and within walking distance of Tanjong Pagar and Telok Ayer stations.
Is any prior financial knowledge required?
No. The programmes are designed for participants who want to become more comfortable with financial vocabulary and documentation, not for those who already have a background in finance. The readings begin from plain-language explanations of terms and structures.
How is participant information handled?
Enrolment information is used only for programme coordination. It is not shared with third parties, and no marketing communications are sent beyond programme-related correspondence. Our full privacy policy is available on this site.
